Painting by Nicole Peyrafitte, 2004.Since those days in early 2003 when we still had hopes to stop the Bush/Cheney Dr. Strangelove-ian project of invading Iraq, Sa’adi Youssef’s poem (see yesterday’s post) has often been the opener of my and Nicole Peyrafitte’s readings and performances.
