Daniel Cohn-Bendit @ European Parliament
At the European Parliament, Cohn-Bendit speaks (unhappily only in French) of the need for the European Community to come clear about Palestine & to back the Palestinians & tell Israel it has to stop its lies, for example “the lie that it wants to negotiate without preconditions, when in fact on the terrain they are changing the conditions continually … tell them to immediately stop the new implantations and the colonizations or we [the E.U.] will immediately back the recognition of Palestine at the U.N..”

I don’t understand French the way I once did though there are some who may challenge that I ever understood very well at all. That said, who cares what the European Parliament has to say about, well anything? Let’s face it, the U.S. writes the cheques for Egypt, Palestine, Israel, Pakistan, India and a list longer than a child’s letter to Santa. The US calls it statesmanship and diplomacy. Stupid but there it is. Cohn-Bendit’s comments are a free shot. He has no skin in the game unless they’re printing money for Hamas too. Better he should come up with an idea to salvage the European economy. It’s sinking faster than Venice. Oh, I know. He has an idea. Borrow more and keep throwing it down black holes. What happens when the lending and printing stops? Has he heard about the Weimar Republic? But then what does he care about reality? His pension is fine. Pity the same can’t be said about many of those who pay his inflated and unneccesary salary. The EU parliament is yet another bloated level of bureaucracy. I’m glad I don’t pay for it. Let the Palestinians join the UN. It is a useless and ineffective platform for tyrants, bandits and terrorists. Hamas will fit right in. Neither the US nor Canada has them on our ‘friends’ list. I wonder if American tax payers recognize they will pick up the tab for Palestine there too? Rochelle is right. She also exhibits a finer economy of words than yours truly.
