Why: To support Archipelago Books, a not-for-profit press, in its mission to publish outstanding and overlooked works of international literature.
What: Silent and live auction, with refreshments.
A short list of available items: Two limited edition etchings by Breyten Breytenbach (22”x15”); original photography by Rachel Harrison; signed first editions by Don DeLillo, Derek Walcott, V.S. Naipaul, Louis de Bernières, John Richardson, Russell Banks, Lynne Sharon Schwartz, Louis Begley, and Elias Khoury, among others; limited edition broadsides by John Ashbery, Czesław Miłosz, Michael Palmer, Robert Haas, and Paul Bowles; 
The James John Audubon Portfolio Collection, 
lunch and a day with Eric Banks at the Aqueduct Race Track; 
gift certificates to more than 10 NYC bookstores; gift certificates to a variety of restaurants, bed & breakfasts, spas, and gyms; theater and concert tickets, cases of wine, magazine subscriptions, vintage posters, and much more!
