Zoomorphic Calligraphy

Well, the Dada occasion was a lot of fun. Bob Holman is Mr. Natural Dadaman in a question/able jacket and Latasha Diggs made me wonder what the dadaists would have produced had they had a chaos-patch in 1917 (well, they had one, in a way, outside the borders of Switzerland, called WWI—though there was someone else running it).

Upon return, had message from friend John Maas pointing me once again to a splendid blog (BibliOdyssey) where you can find gorgeous examples of “classical” vizpo: zoomorphic calligraghies in which the marvelous plasticity of the Arab alphabet is used with breathtaking skill. Apollinaire’s horse and fountain look somewhat sad and amateurish in comparison — excuse-moi, Guillaume!
