The event is part of UNH\u2019s Arts@Night series<\/p>\n

at the UNH Bookstore<\/strong> on the West Haven campus.<\/p>\n

Randall Horton, UNH assistant professor of English, said the evening promises to be an engaging one. \u201cPierre Joris is one of the most important poets of my generation and beyond,\u201d Horton said. \u201cHe is a poet of the world and one sees a \u2018world view\u2019 in the body of his work. People who come out will be thoroughly mesmerized at not only Joris\u2019 reading but his life experiences within the literary community. This will be a total experience.\u201d Joris has translated works by\u00a0Pablo Picasso<\/a>,\u00a0Maurice Blanchot<\/a>,\u00a0Edmond Jab\u00e8s<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Habib Tengour<\/a>\u00a0into English and books by\u00a0Jack Kerouac<\/a>,\u00a0Gregory Corso<\/a>, Pete Townsend and\u00a0Sam Shepard<\/a>\u00a0into French.<\/span><\/p>\n
