It was the opener of a series that also included one-hour programs on Tom Raworth, Bob Cobbing, Allen Fisher & Jeff Nuttall. These last 4 have unhappily not been rebroadcast recently & so I don\u2019t have access to them. Meanwhile, below is the program on Eric, with friends Jacques Taroni as r\u00e9alisateur\/director & Michel Maire as reader of the translations of Eric\u2019s poems. Relistening to the show this morning for the first time since it was broadcast originally, I enjoyed Eric\u2019s quicksilver energy immediately \u2014 while simultaneously feeling profoundly saddened when I realized that not only Eric but friends Jacques & Michel are no longer among the living. La premi\u00e8re \u00e9tait consacr\u00e9e au po\u00e8te Eric Mottram, universitaire et po\u00e8te, sp\u00e9cialiste de Faulkner et Burroughs : rencontre chez lui dans un quartier du sud de Londres.<\/p>\n<p>Nous sommes des po\u00e8tes anglais oui, nous \u00e9crivons en anglais, pas d\u2019erreur possible. Mais nous n\u2019\u00e9crivons pas \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur d\u2019une d\u00e9finition \u00e9troite de ce qu\u2019on pourrait appeler la culture standard anglaise, celle de l\u2019establishment qui lie la po\u00e9sie \u00e0 une m\u00e9trique tr\u00e8s stricte, \u00e0 rimes.
