Previously appeared on Mondoweiss.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At this hearing, the\u00a0judge will rule on whether Tatour\u00a0can live at home in Reineh, a small Palestinian town outside of Nazareth, for the duration of her trial. She has been living in an apartment in Kiryat One, outside Tel Aviv, since October, and only allowed a special 48-hour pass to visit her family on the first day of Eid, described\u00a0by\u00a0<em>Mondoweiss<\/em>\u00a0in \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/mondoweiss.net\/2016\/07\/visit-dareen-tatour\/\">A Visit to Dareen Tatour<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Her family rented her the Kiryat One apartment after she\u00a0was ordered by the court to leave her village. Tatour also\u00a0wears an ankle monitor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As <a href=\"http:\/\/www.haaretz.com\/opinion\/1.727278\">an editorial in\u00a0<em>Haaretz <\/em>calling for Tatour\u2019s release<\/a>\u00a0notes,\u00a0Tatour was arrested last October \u201cat a predawn raid of her home by a large number of police officers, like some dangerous criminal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The dangerous crime? A\u00a0poem that Tatour posted on Facebook, called Qawem ya sha\u2019abi, qawemhum,\u201d translated by poet Tariq Al-Haydar\u00a0as \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/arablit.org\/2016\/04\/27\/the-poem-for-which-dareen-tatours-under-house-arrest-resist-my-people-resist-them\/\">Resist, My People, Resist Them<\/a>.\u201d The poem\u00a0allegedy incites violence.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Over 150 writers, poets, translators, editors, artists, public intellectuals, and cutural workers \u2014 including Alice Walker, Naomi Klein, and Jacqueline Woodson \u2014 have signed a petition urging Tatour\u2019s release.
