Birmingham, who met Weissner in New York and Paris, talks about what made him so memorable and how he bought the book at auction some years ago for $75, believing it and Weissner \u2014 both \u2014 were undervalued. <em>The Braille Film,<\/em> with a \u201ccounterscript\u201d by William Burroughs serving as an introduction, was published in San Francisco in 1970 and was originally priced at $1.95. Burroughs, Nelson Algren, Ken Kesey, and Allen Ginsberg, along with many others \u2026 like J.G. Ballard, Andy Warhol, Frank Zappa \u2026 the list goes on and on <a href=\"http:\/\/realitystudio.org\/publications\/death-in-paris\/bibliography-of-carl-weissner-translations\/\">(see this bibliography)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Two of the things Birmingham nails in his podcast is Weissner\u2019s deeply sardonic sense of humor \u2014 the way he laughed at what was ridiculous in life and literature \u2014 and how encyclopedic his frame of reference was.
