The NTA is the only national award for translated fiction, poetry, and literary nonfiction that includes a rigorous examination of the source text and its relation to the finished English work.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Featuring authors writing in 11 different languages, from 12 countries, this year\u2019s longlists expand the prize\u2019s dedication to literary diversity in English.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Books eligible for this year\u2019s award include titles published anywhere in the world in the previous calendar year (2014) that were translated into English. The selection criteria include both the quality of the finished English language book, and the quality of the translation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>This year\u2019s judges for poetry are Lisa Rose Bradford, Stephen Kessler, and Diana Thow.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The winning translators will receive a $5,000 cash prize, and the award will be announced at ALTA\u2019s annual conference, which will be held this year at the Marriott University Park in Tucson AZ from Oct. 28-31, 2015.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The 5-title shortlists will be announced in September.
