The Gulf (between you and me)<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0continues with the musical world of Santa Fe composer\u00a0Chris Jonas<\/strong>\u00a0in a work that offers a musical language different from any The Crossing has yet sung.\u00a0 This is a collaborative work with graphics created by Philadelphia artist\u00a0Dan Cole<\/strong>projected on the 100\u2019 x 25\u2019 foot great wall of the IceBox, intended to be heard in the magnificent acoustic of this modern secular cathedral; we celebrate this wonderful performance venue in the first of four programs to be heard over the next two seasons.<\/p>\n

Also, chosen specifically for this acoustic is\u00a0Ratniece\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0captivating, fantastic\u00a0Horo Horo Hata Hata<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 a work in which strange prayer chants of the Ainu tribe mingle with bird calls and the sounds of wild animals \u2013 and Lithuanian composer\u00a0Just\u00e9 Janulyt\u00e9\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0aquarelle<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 a monochromatic study suited perfectly to The Crossing\u2019s signature attention to tuning and texture.<\/em><\/p>\n
