I have been searching unsuccessfully for my copy of that novel \u2014 like the Vaneigem it is no doubt in a box in storage waiting for me to build more shelves.<\/p>\n<p>I had wanted to reprint this morning the description of the Statue of Liberty as seen from the immigrants&#8217; ship on which the young Henry Roth and his family approach the shores of these United States for the first time.
