First shots from 2015 Marché de la Poésie
Poet Marie Etienne reads in an homage to Malek Alloula from the latter’s just published posthumous poems:
Shot of the audience during Marie Etienne’s reading; in the foreground, Habib Tengour, then Ghislain Ripault.
Now to the PHI stand, the Luxembourg publisher who had a reception with Ambassador in attendance. It was wonderful to see my old friend, the poet Anise Koltz, the doyenne of Luxembourg poetry, now in her eighties.
Also a treat to hug old mate Lambert Schlechter, who, as readers of this blog know, lost his house, all his ms. & journals, & 20,000 books in a fire a couple months ago. Here he is being hugged by poet Hélène Tyrtoff — his one bandaged finger still witness to the burns he suffered.
And here is my old friend & sometimes-translator Jean Portante with young Asian-Luxembourgish poet LucVan den Bossche.
The stand of PHI with PHI founder Francis van Maele, his co-adventurer Antic Ham in their new publishing house, Red Fox Press, and Nicole Peyrafitte.
A spread of PHI titles & the little black one is Red Fix Press’ “carnet”, drawings by NicolePeyrafitte.
